My Story

Here’s My Story

After I had my first baby in 2009, I ordered P90X from the infomercial. I did the program for about two months, lost all of my baby weight, and then stopped the program. I was “happy” that I had lost the weight I had gained and never really thought I would ever be a small girl.  I weighed about 145 and was content.  The next few years I was trying to get pregnant again.  I miscarried twice so my weight kept going up and down.  I think a lot of the weight gain was in part depression of losing two babies and partially blaming myself for what had happened.

When I became pregnant with my daughter I was high risk because of my past so it was recommended to not work out. So I didn’t.  I was so scared to lose another baby I didn’t want to do anything to jeopardize my pregnancy.  I gained 50 pounds with her and was close to 200 pounds. I ended up buying P90X3 after she was born in 2013. I kept restarting the program and restarting. I lost all of my baby weight again, but I was still not comfortable with the way I felt. I was 145, a size 12, and just thought that’s what my body would be forever.  I figured it was my genes.

Heather, my Beachbody Coach kept trying to get me to try Shakeology, but I never wanted to because of the cost. I’m super frugal and always trying to pinch pennies. One day, a friend of mine, was selling her bags of Shakeology for a super discounted price, so I figured I would try it out. I also borrowed T25 from a friend and decided to really focus. I replaced every lunch with Shakeology and did T25 6 days a week. I lost 10 pounds in the first 6 weeks, and was completely sold on Shakeology. My body was completely changing.

So in September of 2014 I became a Beachbody Coach so I could get a discount.  I honestly had no intention on promoting the products, but I couldn’t help sharing how successful I was with them.  Friends and family I hadn’t seen in months would ask me what I was doing and where they could buy it, etc.  I started buying size 4 jeans and size small shirts. Even in high school I was a size 10 and medium at my smallest.

I became a coach to get the discount, but now that I’ve seen the results in others it has inspired me to want to help other people with their fitness goals. It’s very rewarding to hear people say, “I worked out today because you inspired me,” or “I lost 2 pounds and feel so much better about myself.” I absolutely LOVE being a coach. I work whenever I want, for however long I want. There are no quotas, there’s no pressure, you’re the boss. Everyone’s a team, and really wants one another to succeed. It’s really nice to be able to stay at home with kids and earn some extra money, too.
