Cooking is something I do because I have to, not because I want to. I just don’t have that passion for cooking that some people have. It could be because I’m always in a hurry when dinnertime comes. I was very intrigued when I heard of the book, “5 in 5.”
5 in 5 is a cookbook of 165 recipes. Each recipe includes 5 fresh ingredients and 5 minutes of heat. Most of the recipes include ingredients that I already have in my fridge and pantry. The book is divided by seasons; spring, summer, fall, winter, and holidays. I would have preferred it to be divided by meal type, but there is an index as well. My favorite recipe was the Glazed Carrots with Pecans & Nutmeg. Ingredients included olive oil, carrots, salt, pepper, unsalted butter, pecans, brown sugar, nutmeg, ground cinnamon, and parsley. It was very easy to make and tasted delicious! Even my kids liked it!
If you are looking for a new cookbook made with real food, you must get this book. Easy to make, simple ingredients, and delicious meals.
